"Mere Pyare Prime Minister" to be released on 14th December 2018

Bollywood Film Director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is all set to release his new film "Mere Pyare PrimeMinister" on 14th December 2018. The filmmaker has always explored socially-relevant topics through his movies this film focuses on the issue of open defecation and lack of sanitation in the country, It is to be noted that there are several campaigns and cleanliness drives being run in the country and this film is another attempt to make people aware about cleanliness.
Earlier, It was Akshay Kumar's Toilet: Ek Prem Katha which focused on the issues of open defecation.
Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra has always filmed stories that are rooted in the country in his previous films such as Rang De Basanti, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Delhi 6. This film
portrays the beautiful relationship between a mother and son, and National Award-winning actress Anjali Patil will play the role of the mother.


The filmmaker was highly influenced by Mahatma Gandhi's ideas and his model of Toilets since he visited his Sabarmati Ashram in Gandhi Nagar and after that, he started initiatives like building toilets in Municipal schools. His film Rang De Basanti was one of the best films ever by Bollywood and with this film, his idea is to bring the change in the society.
The film was earlier scheduled to be released on Gandhi Jayanti as 2nd October is also celebrated as Swachhta Divas in India but due to some reasons, It will be released in December. "Gandhi is a recurring motif in the film... It comes many times....four times in the film," Mehra had said.
